If you’re anything like me, you want the outfits in your closet to be as easy as the grab and go section at Whole Foods. Now approaching my mid 20’s, I want my closet to be the most chic capsule wardrobe you’ve ever seen. This means leaving everything from my college wardrobe behind along with the memories.
Fall is a perfect place to start when rebuilding a wardrobe because it involves a lot of pieces that fit into the capsule category. Here are some I will be searching for to add to my ideal capsule collection.
Neutral blazer: Luckily for the capsule wardrobe lovers, the blazer trend is hot and ready! A blazer is a piece everyone should have in their wardrobe. This fall I love neutral nudes or blush tones to add the perfect pop.
Leather jacket: For all my edgier fashion lovers out there, a good leather jacket is a must. Find one that checks all the boxes for your personal body type and style. (For me it means cropped length, the perfect fit- not too snug not too oversized, moto details and gunmetal hardware.)
Versatile top: Investing in a simple, great quality top that looks great alone or with layering is a must. I want my tops to be simple enough to re-wear all the time but also stylish enough to make any outfit look put together.
Trousers: My everlasting trouser hunt has yet to end. I have not been able to settle for any that I have tried because I still have hope that I will find “the ones.” Dress them up or dress them down, a kick ass pair of trousers will always be in style.
Carryall bag: This will be one bag that fits all your needs, literally. Don’t get me wrong, I love the tiny bag trend but why make it hard on yourself? Carry a bag that fits all of the stuff you’re lugging around. It can look just as stylish.
Leather booties: Boots are my jam. I have always been obsessed. Try to find a neutral pair that has a great shape and are comfortable to wear on the daily. Tip: to make them even more versatile, look for a pair with either gunmetal or no hardware that can be worn with silver and gold accessories.
