We love to buy designer items, on major sale, that is!
Surprise, we hardly ever pay full price for trendy designer pieces. I mean what entrepreneurs in their early 20’s have the cash flow for that?! We sure don’t! With that said, we love a good deal on good quality pieces that will last. Here are some stores where we do the damage. (Click the bolded store names to be redirected to their sites):
UAL: Local Nashvillians, you can find UAL in three locations: West End, Hillsboro Village, and Brentwood. For non-local readers, follow UAL on instagram. They are constantly posting new items on their feed and they accept orders over the phone and ship! They also have an online store: https://shopual.com
Here are some of out favorite items we have gotten from UAL:
R13 denim jacket and a metallic clutch
Outnet: Outnet has our personal favorite curation of designer pieces. Coming from YOOX Net-A-Porter Group which owns a number of online retailers including Outnet, Net-A-Porter, Mr. Porter and YOOX (similar to Outnet but with mens clothes too), they have a defined brand that shapes their curation of products. This is the ultimate spot to score on trendy, fashion girl pieces! (Lots of Ganni!!!)
Here are our favorite Outnet pieces we have in our closets:
Christian Louboutin heels, Ganni jacket, Etre Cecile tee
Nordstrom Rack: The Rack is where I (Olivia) go for a lot of designer pieces on sale. I mostly go for convenience (return policy, customer service and location from my house), but I also love a good hunt! With Nordstrom Rack, you have to be willing to scour through the racks (especially clearance) because finding the gems means extra work.
You won’t believe some of the prices we have paid for designer pieces from The Rack though:
Veronica Beard blazer (originally $695 bought for $100), Victoria Beckham side stripe jeans ($130), Rachel Comey dress (under $200), Marc Jacobs tee’s (under $100)
Material world: One of our new favorites. This is a service that delivers designer pieces straight to your door! We get a package bi-monthly and we absolutely love each piece we receive. Not only do they have a personal stylist who curates the selection for you, it is also super ethical because they are pre-loved designer pieces.
Again, the prices for these pieces in our closets are insane!
Helmut Lang dress (in season, originally over $500 paid $112), DVF Romper (Under $150) , Golden Goose (Under $250)
Consignment shops/Goodwill: For those who consider bargain shopping a hobby. Sometimes you just got to do it for fabulousness. Tip: the Goodwill’s where you are more likely to find designer pieces are in locations where the demographic is purchasing designer pieces. For example I found:
Gucci heels (Goodwill $65), Dior bag (Designer consignment store ($110)
Last but not least we steak out for designer sales from major department stores. Upcoming sales will be Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Pro tip: download your favorite store’s app and enable notifications. This way you will always be first to know when a major sale has started and sometimes even gain early access.
